Summer Reading for the Littlest Readers

Summer reading isn’t just for the big kids.  A fun worksheet is available for parents to complete with their baby or toddler.  Check off all the fun activities you’ve done together and bring it to the Library for a free book and a chance to win a special Little Reader prize basket.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Join our new community-wide challenge to read 1000 books to your child before they enter kindergarten.  Don’t be intimidated-with only 15 minutes of reading per day, you could easily meet your goal in as little as one year.  Sharing books with your child helps improve their vocabulary, promotes a positive attitude towards learning that will benefit them greatly in school, and is a wonderful bonding experience.  Children will receive a special sticker for every 100 books read, a book to keep at 500 books, and a special award medal when they reach the  goal of 1000 books.  Will your child be our next 1000 BBK graduate?
